NOTICE OF THE APPLICATION FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL AUHORISATION AND A WASTE MANAGEMENT LICENCE FOR THE PROPOSED SISHEN EXPANSION PROJECT) (DMRE Ref 00202 MR)

This advertisement gives notice to potential Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) about where information in respect of the application for the Sishen Expansion Project at Sishen Iron Ore Mine can be obtained, as well as the opportunity I&APs must comment on the draft Scoping Report (“DSR”).

Availability of the Draft Scoping Report

Potential impacts as a result of the project including proposed mitigation measures are included in the SR.  The DSR is available to the public for review for a period of thirty (30) days, from 14 October to the 14 November 2022. Hard copies of the mentioned document are available at the Sishen Auditorium and the Kathu Library. A register and comment sheet will accompany the hard copies at the public viewing stations. Please complete the register subsequent to reviewing the report. Alternatively, e-mail or fax your comments to Shangoni (details provided below) by no later than 14 November 2022.  An electronic copy of the DSR will also be posted on the Shangoni’s website (www.shangoni.co.za) for public comment for the same period of thirty days.
