Notice of Approval of the Environmental Authorisation (“EA”) for Ukupha Farming (Pty) Ltd (“Ukupha”), Basic Assessment for the Expansion and Operation of Poultry Facilities. Reference no: 1/3/1/16//1N/-299
Shangoni Management Services (Pty) Ltd (“Shangoni”) was appointed as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (“EAP”) in accordance with the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998), as amended, with specific reference to Regulation 12 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (GN R982 dated 2014), as amended, to undertake a basic assessment for the expansion of a broiler houses for Ukupha Farming on portion 18 and 20 of Farm Klipspruit 199 IR, Victor Khanye Local Municipality.
A positive environmental authorisation (Basic Assessment with Reference No.: 1/3/1/16//1N/-299) dated 9 March 2022, was received by Ukupha and Shangoni on 9 March 2022 from the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (“DARDLEA”).

- The Department is satisfied on the basic of information available to it and subject to compliance with the conditions of this this environmental authorisation, that the applicant should be authorised to undertake the activities as specified in the Application.
Appeals procedure:
Your attention is drawn to the fact that an appeal may be lodged against the decision in terms of the National Appeal Regulations, 2014 as published in GNR 993 in Government Gazette 38303 of 8 December 2014. Should you wish to appeal any aspect of the decision, you must submit the appeal to the Minister of the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs and a copy of such appeal to the Department of Forestry Fisheries and Environmental (National) within 20 days from the date of notification and such appeal must be lodged as prescribed in terms of Chapter 2 of the National Appeal Regulations of 2014, by means of the methods as prescribed below:
