“So what” for my operation?
In terms of the National Environmental Management Air Quality Act, no person may conduct an activity listed on the national list anywhere in the Republic or listed on a list applicable in a province anywhere in that province without a provisional AEL or an AEL. When your operation submits an application for a new AEL, or a review, renewal or transfer thereof, it must be ensured that the appropriate processing fee is paid prior to, or on the date of submission of the application to the licensing authority. If this is not done, the application will not be processed.

What is Shangoni’s approach?
Shangoni provides technical support in the compilation of the AEL application form. Shangoni can assist with the notification of stakeholders, interested and affected parties and organs of state, as part of the AEL application process. If required by the Licensing Authority, Shangoni can conduct Atmospheric Impact Assessments as part of the AEL application process.
