CORRECTIONS TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT REGULATIONS AND LISTING NOTICES, 2014

Title: Corrections to the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations and Listing Notices, 2014

Commencing date: 13 July 2018

The Minister of Environmental Affairs made certain corrections to the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (as amended) (“EIA regulations”) and its Listing Notices. The corrections include:
• Regulation 14(6) has been amended by changing the words “a request in terms of subregulation (5)(c)” to “a request in terms of subregulation (5)(b)”
• Regulation 23(1) has been amended to include for regulation 21(2) to apply to the timeframes for submission of an environmental impact assessment report and environmental management programme.
• Regulation 33(2) has been amended by the deletion of the word “holder” in.
• The definition of “previous NEMA notices” in Regulation 49 have been amended.
• The definition of “previous NEMA notices” in Listing Notice 1 and 3 has been amended.
• Activity 48(cc) in Listing Notice 1 has been amended.
