FEES FOR REGISTERED AND CANDIDATE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PRACTITIONERS APPROVED TO BE LEVIED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PRACTITIONERS ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH AFRICA

Title: Approval of fees for application for registration, lodging of appeals and annual fees for registered candidate environmental assessment practitioners and registered environmental assessment practitioners in terms of section 24H of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 and regulation 9 of the section 24H Registration Authority Regulations, 2016

The Minister of Environmental approved the levying of fees for application for the registration, lodging of appeals and annual fees for registered Candidate Environmental Assessment Practitioners (“EAP’s”) and Registered EAP’s in the abovementioned Government Gazette.

The Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa may levy the following fees:
• Registration assessment fee: EAP – R1 500.00
• Registration assessment fee: Candidate EAP- R800.00
• Annual subscription: EAP – R1 200.00
• Annual subscription: Candidate EAP – R600.00
• Appeal fee: R1 500.00

So what for my operation?
With effect from 7 February 2020 only EAP’s registered with EAPASA will be permitted to manage, coordinate or review environmental impact assessments and associated environmental management programmes and plans.  It is critical that supply chain processes are reviewed to ensure that service providers comply with this requirement.
