GUIDELINES FOR DRIVEN MACHINERY REGULATIONS

A guideline for the Driven Machinery Regulations has been published, consisting of explanatory notes on the implications and application of the more important regulations concerning Driven Machinery Regulations. The notes are meant to help and guide suppliers, contractors, service providers, competent persons and users of driven machinery. The aim of these guidance notes is to explain in simple language the provisions of the Driven Machinery Regulations and to stress the principle of self-regulation.

Explanatory guidelines have been defined relating to revolving machinery, circular saws, band saws and band knives, wood-planing machines, Wood-moulding and mortising machines, sanding machines, grinding machines, Shears, guillotines and presses, Slitting machines, Mixing, agitating and similar machines, Rolls and calendar rolls, Washing machines, centrifugal extractors, air compressors, refrigeration and air-conditioning installations, transportation plants, lifting machines and hand-powered lifting devices and lifting tackle.

So what for my operation?
The Driven Machinery Regulations apply to the design, manufacture, operation, repair, modification, maintenance, inspection, testing and commissioning of driven machinery. The Guideline can be used to correctly interpret these Regulations.
