The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, in terms of section 18(1) of the NEMAQA, amended and expanded the boundaries of the declared Vaal Triangle Air-shed Priority Area to include the following areas:
- West Rand District Municipality (Mogale City Local Municipality, Merafong City Local Municipality, and Rand West City Local Municipality)
- The remaining area of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality
