The Minister of Employment and Labour, in terms of section 43(1) of the OHSA published the Draft Regulations concerning the Certificate of Competency (“draft regulations”) for public comment.
Once the Draft Regulations commences, it will repeal the current Regulations concerning the Certificate of Competency, GNR 533 of 16 March 1990.
Members of the public are invited to submit comments within 90 days of the publication of the notice (i.e. on or before 9 July 2026.)
