The Chief Inspector of Labour published a notice of intent on 26 January 2018, to incorporate the code of practice for inspection and testing of lifts into the Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor Regulations, 2010.

The code of practice includes various reports that must be completed during the commissioning, new installation, modification and periodic inspection and testing of vertical lift platforms, access goods only lifts, rack and pinion lifts and service lifts inside wind turbines.

Interested persons are invited to submit any substantiated comments or representations on the proposed code of practice to the Director General, Department of Labour, within 90 days of publication of this notice. For a copy of the notice please click here.
