The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries has published the Draft Methodological Guidelines and Quantification of Greenhouse Gas Emissions – Carbon Sequestration in the Forestry Industry – Guideline for Validation and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (“the guidelines”), for public comment.
Regulation 10 of the National Greenhouse Gas Reporting Regulations published under GN R275 in GG 40762 of 3 April 2017 (“the Regulations”) requires data providers to report using methods set out in the methodological guidelines for quantification of greenhouse gas emissions. The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (“DEFF”) has subsequently developed methodological guidelines for quantification of the greenhouse gas emissions – carbon sequestration in the forestry industry, to serve as a companion to the Regulations for data providers with forestry plantations.
Members of the public are invited to submit written comments to the Director-General: DEFF within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Government Gazette. For a copy of the Government Gazette Notice click here
