Commencing date: Comments to be submitted on or before 14 October 2021.
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, gave notice of the extension of the comment period on the Draft Policy Position on the Conservation and Ecologically Sustainable Use of Elephant, Lion, Leopard and Rhinoceros (“Policy Position”), as initially published for public comments on 28 June 201 under GNR 566.
The aim of the Policy Position is to set out policy objectives and outcomes towards achieving secured, restored and rewilded natural landscapes with thriving populations of elephant, lion, leopards and rhinos, as indicators for a vibrant, responsible, inclusive, transformed, and sustainable wildlife sector.
