The Chief Inspector of Mines in terms of section 49(6) read together with section 9(2) and (3) of the MHSA issued the revised Guideline for a Mandatory Code of Practice (“MCOP”) for the Selection and Provision of Personal Protective Equipment for Women in the South African Mining Industry, 2023 for implementation.

How to ensure compliance at my operations?

Mines must review their current MCOP for the Selection and Provision of Personal Protective Equipment for Women in the South African Mining Industry and make the necessary changes where needed to align with the new published Guideline by 30 September 2023.
