NATIONAL ENERGY ACT (34/2008): AMENDMENT REGULATIONS FOR THE MANDATORY DISPLAY AND SUBMISSION OF ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES FOR BUILDINGS

Commencing date: Comments to be submitted by 26 December 2022
The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy (“the Minister”) in terms of section 19(1)(b), read with section 19(2)(a) of the NEA, published proposed amendments to the Regulations for the Mandatory Display and Submission of Energy Performance Certificates for Buildings, GNR 700 of 8 December 2000, (“the Regulations”) for public comment.
The proposed amendments relate to amongst other the following:
- The definitions of “accounting officer” and “accredited body”
- Requirement to register the type and size of a building and its energy performance to SANEDI within 12 months of the promulgation of the proposed amendments.
