NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT LAWS AMENDMENT ACT, 2022: FOR INFORMATION
Notice Title: National Environmental Management Laws Amendment Act, 2 of 2022 (“NEMLAA”)
Government Notice: GN 2203 in GG 46602 on 24 June 2022
Commencing date: To be determined
The President has assented to the NEMLAA which has been published for general information.
The NEMLAA will only come into operation on a date fixed by the President by proclamation in the Government Gazette.
The NEMLAA will amend the:
- National Environmental Management Act, 1998
- National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003
- National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004
- National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004
- National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008
- National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008
- National Environmental Management Amendment Act, 2008.
