The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (“the Minister”), under regulation 6(4) of the Waste Exclusion Regulations, GNR 715 of 2018 (“the Regulations”) published the exclusion of certain waste streams or a portion of such waste streams, from the definition of waste, for the purpose of beneficial uses.
In consideration of the applications, the criteria contemplated in regulation 7 and the risk assessment contemplated in regulation 8 of the Regulations were taken into account.

How to ensure compliance at my operations?
The waste streams or portions of such waste streams excluded from the definition of waste, must comply with the risk management plans based on the risk assessments.
Annual reports in terms of regulation 10 of the Regulations must be submitted to the Department.
