The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Safety Regulator (“RSR”), in terms of the NRSRA published the Common Safety Method on Risk Assessment (“CSM-RA”), as an Addendum to the existing latest version of the Determination in terms of Section 28 of the NRSRA for implementation and compliance by the Railway Operators.

The CSM-RA addendum applies to all Railway Operators as defined in terms of the NRSRA. The Railway Operators are henceforth required to comply by implementing the requirements which are specified in this addendum. An Operator Implementation Guide which provides guidelines on the implementation of the CSM-RA requirements, will be shared by the RSR with the Operators to ensure compliance.
