NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF CERTIFICATES (WITHOUT EXPIRY DATE) ISSUED TO TRAINING PROVIDERS

The Chief Inspector of the Department of Labour has published the abovementioned notice to withdraw all certificates issued to training providers in terms of regulation 18(11) of the Driven Machinery Regulations without an expiry date. Certificates issued without an expiry date will be valid for a period of 12 months from the date of this notice.
How to ensure compliance at my operation:
Training providers with Driven Machinery Regulations certificates issued without an expiry have until 17 January 2020 to lodge a written application to Department of Labour to obtain an updated certificate. When appointing a training service provider to train lifting machine operators it must be ensured that the service provider is in possession of a valid certificate issued by the Department of Labour.
