The Minister of Employment and Labour, in terms of section 43(1)(c) of the OHSA, promulgated the new Major Hazard Installations, 2022 (new MHIR).

How to ensure compliance at my operations?
The Major Hazard Installation Regulations, GNR 692 of 30 July 2001 will be repealed once the new MHIR come into operation. The new MHIR will come into operation on a date still to be determined by the Minister by notice in the Government Gazette.
