The Chief Inspector, appointed in terms of section 27(1) of the OHSA, under section 44 of the OHSA incorporated the National Code of Practice for Inspection and Testing of Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor (“COP”) into the LEPCR.
The COP is to provide clarity and direction to all stakeholders directly or indirectly related to the inspection and testing of lift into the LEPCR. The COP consists of annexures on the commission and inspection of the lift, escalator and passenger conveyor.
