PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE REGULATIONS REGARDING THE PHASING-OUT AND MANAGEMENT OF OZONE DEPLETING SUBSTANCES

The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries, under sections 53(a) and (e), read with sections 55(1)(a), 55(2) and 55(3)(a) of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004 (Act No. 39 of 2004), gave her notice of intention to amend the Regulations regarding the Phasing-Out and Management of Ozone Depleting Substances, 2014. Members of the public are invited to submit written representation or objections to the proposed amendments within 60 days from the date of publication of this notice to the Minister.
The amendments to the regulations, inter alia, provide for the inclusion of import and export permit requirements for hydrochloroflourocarbons and the substitution of Annexure A that contains the list of ozone depleting substances.
