Notice Title: World Heritage Convention Act 49 of 1999 (“WHCA”): Extension of time to comment on the notice of intention to proclaim land situated in the Western and Eastern Cape to be the Cape Floral Region Protected Areas World Heritage Site in terms of the Act
Government Notice: GN 1455 in GG 45396 on 29 October 2021
Commencing date: Comments to be submitted on or before 29 November 2021.
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (“the Minister”), is providing additional time to comment on the notice of intention to proclaim the land situated in the Western Cape Province and Eastern Cape Province to be the Cape Floral Region Protected Areas World Heritage Site as initially published under GG 44191 of GNR 141 on 26 February 2021.
The land is situated in the following areas:
- Garden Route Complex:
- Agulhas Complex
- Baviaanskloof Complex
- Boland Mountain Complex
- Cederberg Complex
- Groot Winterhoek Complex
- Hexrivier Complex
- Langeberg Complex
- Swartberg Complex
