Government Notice: GN 2208 in GG 46641 on 1 July 2022
Commencing date: Comments to be submitted by 1 August 2022
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (“the Minister”) under section 7, read with section 8 of the WHCA intends to declare Robben Island Museum Council and KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Board as the Management Authorities for Robben Island Museum World Heritage Site and Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site, the South African Component of Maloti-Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site respectively.
The Management Authorities shall exercise those powers and duties referred to in sections 13(1), (2) and 15 of the WHCA.
