The Department of Water and Sanitation instructed all water users who are not members of an Irrigation Board or Water User Association in all Water Management Areas (“Water Users”) to install water measuring devices for water taken for commercial irrigation purposes and to monitor compliance with Government Notice No. 131 of 2017 (“the Regulations”). The selection, installation, operation and maintenance of these water measuring devices must comply with the provisions of the Regulations.
How to ensure compliance at my operation?
Water users who take water for commercial irrigation purposes and who are not members of an Irrigation Board or Water User Association must install water measuring devices by 28 February 2020 and must submit monthly water measurement records to the competent authority in accordance with the Regulations.
